THERE IS ONLY ONE STANDARD – GOD’S STANDARD

The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” -Psalm 14:1

Ouch! That’s tough but it’s truth. Feelings aside, the Bible calls it as it really is. Many years I spent my life as being a fool.

“No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark. And they were oblivious, until the flood came and swept them all away. So will it be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day on which your Lord will come. But understand this: If the homeowner had known in which watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. For this reason, you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour you do not expect. ” -Matthew 24:36-44

Don’t get too comfortable with this life, fellow travelers. Our time here is like a vapor. Eternity is forever.

“But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” -Matthew 12:36-37

Like it or not, we ALL will be held accountable by our choices, actions, speech.

If you do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ and you are reading this…this is not a message from a Christian judging you (Romans 3:10-12) – this is a Christian sharing that “the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.” 1 John 2:17

If you are a Christ follower and you are reading this, be reminded “do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” -Romans 12:2

I leave you all with a serious question: how do you set your acceptable standard of measurement for the entirety of your existence?

By the world or the Word of God?

There is only One that will not fail! Jesus Christ

Colossians 1:15-20
